The latest version of the software formerly known as “Fruity Loops” is now out. I’ve tried it out so far and the Demo song brings my little Celeron desktop to a halt. I’ve tried it on my dual-core laptop, but the speakers suck.

The playlist has been updated quite a bit, and I like it. I was a little slow to move from the pattern sequencer to the clip tracker or whatever it is called, but it is more visually appealing and easier to use. Especially if you don’t label your patterns like I do, it gives you a visual representation of them.

There’s also a Riff Generator which looks promosing.

What I don’t like is the advertisment in the installer.

You can get a demo from Tucows. You can also buy it here.
